As pressed juice brands continue to incorporate the next hot ingredient into their tonics – from activated charcoal to medicinal mushrooms – one enterprising company in Washington D.C. has just ventured to a place where no one else has gone before.
District Growers, a marijuana cultivation center in our nation’s capital, has come out with a line of cold-pressed juice that contains cannabis, giving new meaning to a superfood beverage.
By infusing marijuana into the juice through a neutral-tasting vegetable glycerin, the company is able to harness the medicinal power of THC, CBD, and other cannabinoids.
Currently, there are five seasonal, all-organic, cannabis-infused flavors: More Freedom (pineapple and wheatgrass), More Bliss (lemon, agave, and cayenne pepper), More Passion (lemon, pomegranate, and cayenne pepper), More Smiles (vanilla, dates, and cashew milk), and More Serenity (spinach, kale, romaine, cucumber, cashews, dates and vanilla).
Aside from this being completely novel for the juice industry, this product also offers medical marijuana patients a healthier and nutrient-rich option other than smoking or using a vaporizer.
“Not every patient is able to medicate through their lungs. The fusion of our high-quality cannabis and the highest quality juice achievable provides an important alternative,” said Corey Barnette, co-owner of District Growers.
Each 12-ounce bottle has up to three doses of medication and costs $32 each, which is a comparable price point for similar marijuana dosage. The 12-ounce serving is meant to be consumed in its entirety, although Barnette recommends that new patients drink one dose and wait 30 minutes before consuming another serving.
For those individuals who have a medical marijuana prescription, this More… line of juice is available exclusively at Metropolitan Wellness Center, a leading D.C. medical cannabis dispensary, with plans for it to be available at other dispensaries in the area very soon.
If you don’t live near Washington D.C. but are eager to try this product, don’t despair.
We believe that it is just a matter of time before cannabis-infused pressed juice will be available nationwide.
