BluePrint is truly a pioneer in the pressed organic juice world because they were able to build a national brand before anyone else.
While all other pressed organic juice companies were opening physical locations one at a time, founders Erica Huss and Zoe Sakoutis pursued a completely different, and brilliant, business model.
The two decided to leverage other people’s retail distribution and avoid having to invest capital in their own brick-and-mortar stores.
The result? BluePrint is now sold in 22 states, sales last year topped $20 million, and the company was purchased by publicly-traded Hain Celestial.
Now that BluePrint has tremendous name recognition throughout the country, the company has decided to open up its first retail location, which will be located on 1422 Abbott Kinney Boulevard in Venice, CA, sometime this summer.
This is a very smart move for BluePrint, mostly because it will allow the company to become more personal and to build even more brand equity and loyalty. The fact that consumers can go into a BluePrint store is incredibly meaningful.
Furthermore, we are likely to see additional juices and products from BluePrint in this retail location, and having its own store will allow the company to test what works and what doesn’t work.
At Natural Products Expo West 2013 last month, I tasted some of BluePrint’s raw bars, which are not available for sale right now, and they were fantastic.
Overall, just another very shrewd move from BluePrint, and I am excited to watch how the company evolves over the next 5-10 years.
